Snapshots are built in. Managed backups are an optional add-on you can switch on per service. Here's exactly what each one does.

01 · Managed backups (optional add-on)
Separate copies, running on their own schedule.
Switch managed backups on for a service and they run on their own, landing on storage that isn't the machine your server runs on. It's a paid add-on priced as a percentage of that service's plan, so you see the number before you turn it on.

02 · Snapshots
Undo, for full servers and containers.
Take a snapshot before doing something risky, then roll back if it goes wrong. Snapshots are included on full servers and containers. Game servers use the game panel's own backups instead.

03 · Encryption
Locked down in transit and at rest.
Traffic to and from your account is encrypted. Storage and backups are encrypted on disk. We don't keep a plain-text copy of your stuff sitting around.

04 · Recovery
Restore is a button, not a fire drill.
When you need it back, it's a few clicks. Pick a backup, pick a snapshot, or tell us 'restore me to this morning' and we'll do it. No phone tree, no 'submit a P1 ticket.'

How the add-on actually behaves

Schedule
Daily or weekly, on the day and hour you choose. If a run is missed, you'll see it on the service page.
Retention
We keep the most recent seven backups per service and prune older ones automatically. Retention isn't adjustable today.
Restore
Restore from the dashboard or ask on live chat. We'd still tell you to keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable — our Terms say the same.
